You are what you eat...

Thomas and I love to grow various fruits and vegetables in our backyard. So far, we have watermelons, strawberries, blackberries, oranges, grapefruits, lemons, apples, peppers, basil, mint, onions and we had pumpkins, but we lost those to a tragic underwatering accident. So anyway, here is a lovely shot of my watermelon...

It is about the size of a tennis ball, but I am pretty sure we will end up sending this little guy to watermelon heaven because of the heat. We'll see!

Cool! Tami, you need to sing to it. That will make it grow. Sing sing sing!

We tried to grow a few things here a while back. We had a beautiful strawberry plant going and many green strawberries formed. They began to turn red, so we patiently waited for the perfect time to pick them. Our mouths drooled every time we looked at them- we were like kids in a candy store. So, the day finally came for us to retrieve our beautiful strawberries. We went outside, only to find that a bird had beaten us to it and every strawberry had a huge chunk missing from it. Eventually, the bird got the squash and other things we were growing. We were so frustrated that we just brought it all in and haven't tried since. I hope you have better luck than we did.
