Isn't that the saying? Well, we have experienced that at GST over the last few weeks. A few weeks ago, we had an employee pass away very unexpectedly at his home. It was a very sad situation and I am sad that we didn't know him better than we did.
The second happened this morning. We had an employee suffer a heart attack after arriving to work. The paramedics were called and he was transported to the hospital immediately. At around 2:00, we found out he had passed away. He has been having heart problems for quite some time, but, as Thomas puts it, he was "just talking to him this morning." This employee was one of the nicest guys you could meet and it breaks my heart to hear of his passing.
The final issue was also this morning. Some of you may have heard about the shooting in Haltom City that happened early today. It happened in front of our new facility and my Dad and a few other people were there as it was taking place. They had to watch a man die in front of them and they were helpless. There was no way to save him and they have not caught the guy who committed the crime. These are images that will forever stay in the minds of those that were there. UPDATE: They did find the guy they think did the shooting and he is in jail in Haltom City.
All of the above remind me of how precious life is and how I need to remember to take advantage of every minute. Please keep the families of these individuals in your prayers.

How sad! Tami I'm sorry that all of that has happened to you. I'll definitely pray for everyone involved!
Goll-y! That is really crazy.
BTW, right after you posted about the cupcake store (like the very next day!) Reese and I drove ALL THE WAY over there and it was CLOSED!!! So I still have not been able to partake; when do you want to go?
They are open Tuesday through Saturday, but they only stay open until they sell their last cupcake. I am game whenever you are!! J. Rae's opened last week and their stuff is AWESOME. They have better hours too!!
{Insert encouraging comment here}, LOL. It seems like when it rains, it pours and it's pouring for a lot of people right now.
